The little freaky fox

As I entered the school gates. I could not not believe my eyes it was ... A little freaky fox. It was purple and playing with blue bubbles. Did anybody else no about this freaky fox. Everybody else did not. I did not no what to do cause the fox did not look friendly. But really fancy. I was really worried because the bell was going to ring soon. The freaky fancy not friendly fox would be alone. So... I took the freaky fox to the head teacher and said this is my pet fox. After show and tell my teacher told me to take it home. I ran home with the fox. Then I remembered I live with my grandpa and he is allergic. So i got home and asked and mum said only if I keep it in my bedroom at night and the backyard in the day. I was so exited and I called the fox henewa. The little fox liked the name and became friendly. I kept the fox. The fox turned from purple to silver. The fox went everywhere I went. The fox became really fluffy. The fox loved me as much as I loved the fox. When I was sleeping with the fluffy fox I woke up and I was in a dream. I was surrounded by tigers it was creepy and spooky. Then I realised that something was riding on one of the tigers. It was... Henewa. She said this is my world. I come here every time you are at school to vist my family. Then I started to sniffle and said so are you going to leave me. Henewa said no I will always be at your house. I love you said the fox I love you to I said. Then I woke up an asked the fox was that real? It was.

The prodution

On tuesday I had butterflies in my tummy. Today was the day of the … PRODUCDUTION. I was nervous about the production at first. The theme was the night at the R’OSCARS. I had my faveouritie tea mince pie.
My mum dropped me off at the regent.  Just like that we were at the regent. The stage was so big but smaller then a maze.
We had to wait a bit for our turn. But i was in the kapa haka so i was on first too. Some dances were so cute. My class was doing...HOP i want candy it’s a catchy song.
Our  costumes looked a bit funny because we were bunnys. There was such a big crowd. our costumes was a black vest, rainbow baggy pants, some ruffles and some make up whiskars
pink nose eyeliner and fuzzy tail. finlly it was our turn we were buzzing with exitment. We did it we finshed. then the only part left the fanil. The last song was fading and we came on with the rest of the school and the teachers did a little dance they dressed in some funny outfits. Once they finshed we sang and danced to take it easy by stan walker. Everyone cheered so loud next we went to our dressing room to get changed. We went on the stage  to find our parents I needed to find just my mum my dad wasn’t there but i no that he  would love the show. When I got home I went straight to sleep.

Cross country was today I did lots of training for this day. We had to wait a long time for the year 3 girls to have there go. I was determinten to cross the finish line even if I came last. Then it was our turn we went with nic to the start line we did some warm ups then he blowed the gun. We were of then in the middle of the race I got puffed but I keeped going. Then just going into Tyndall street there were three people in front  of me the first to people were way in front so when I went down the runway to the finish line I sprinted to the finish and sprinted past zara and came to the finish and came third like I did when I was a year one. I was so proud and I had improved from last time. I was so puffed out. At the end my legs were stif like a pencil I needed a drink. I was so proud. My story

Because of love

There was a king called king merry. He had blonde hair and a jewel crown. He had two daughters called Matilda and little Sofia they both had brown hair like their mother. They both had diamond tiaras. King merry lived in England with his daughters.  But he didn’t want daughters he wanted sons. Because he wanted to go to an arcade to play games like wreck it ralph. But he had to take the girls to ballet.  On the other side of the story in Australia there was a queen named Julie, she had brown hair and crystal earrings. She had two sons called Tom and Connor. They both had blonde hair like their father. Julie didn’t want sons because she wanted daughters to take shopping because she really truly did not like taking the boys to soccer practice!!  Both king merry and queen Julie lived alone.  One day the king went to Australia to visit his mum because she was in hospice. Next door to his Mum there was a palace.  That’s where queen Julie lives. It started to pour down with rain. The queen saw him out her window and she said, “ come in side and have a coffee and a toffee pop. The queen immediately fell in love with him.  Then King merry had to go.  Queen Julie had lost her love.  So on Sunday she emailed King Merry.  This is what the email said “we should see each other soon” so the King sent back and said “sure”.  What they didn’t know was that queen Julie was going to England and King Merry was coming to Australia.  So when King Merry went to Queen Julie’s palace and Queen Julie went to King Merry’s snow palace.  When King Merry saw that Queen Julie wasn’t there he rang Julie and said “where are you?” and she replied” in England where are you?” “I’m in Australia”.  “Alright, I’m coming back you stay there” and Queen Julie said “I’ve got a surprise for you”.  King Merry came straight away.  When he got home the queen gave him a present.  He opened it right away.  It was a kitten a little grey kitten.  King merry called it princess snowflake.  He named it that because he lived in England and it snows.  Queen Julie and King Merry liked each other so much.  So they had a wedding in England in the snow palace.  There wedding was a big success because the theme was Mexico and everybody dressed up and they danced the waltz.   The end

In the end Sofia loved Conner no it’s not finished daddy. Let me do my special dance with Connor. Come out of there. Now let’s dance “ la la la “

Success Criteria:
  • Write what we enjoyed

  • Add detail about what I did
  • Write about what it looked like

Tuesday was  the day we were going to the marae in Woodville. We went in the bus to go to woodville. We went with our buddys. I felt a bit sick on the way. When we got there we had a powhiri. That means they welcomed us  to the marae. We stood on the path in a bunch waiting to get welcomed in.  The  leader and David each did a speech in moari and in english. the leader from the marae said somethings like he said the pictures on the back wall are the people that are conected to the marae and all the carvings on the walls. We sang a song and they sang a song back to us. At the end of the powhiri we did a hongi. At first I was a bit unsure and nervous about doing the hongi. I felt proud that I did the hongi. Then it was brunch there was a special room that we ate in it was called wharekai. I was really proud of me because it was my first time at the marae.

By Aria.
Ebony says: This is a wonderful recount of your experience on the marae Aria. I like how you mentioned about how you felt when you did the hongi. I felt a bit like that too.

Me doing the triathlon

Yesterday I did the weet-bix triathlon. I think I did a very good
job at the triathlon. My number was 27245 and my finish time was 11:13.
                                There were Celebrity's there. I got a t-shirt a swim bag,swim cap,medal,
water bottle and my finish time recorded. The people from Russell street
school got there photo taken with the celebrity's. After the photo you could
get a  signature. I got a signature by Temepara George and Valerie Adams.
It was so awesome their were spot prizes. After I got a special treat I got to
go the  two dollar shop and I got a ball making kit. That day was the best day
because it was my first ever triathlon!!

Koru art

WALT: Use symbols (to represent something special to us)

The big blue koru is my dad the big purple koru is my mum the little purple is my little sister called Kali and the little blue is me. Me and my dad both like blue and my mum and  Kali like purple so that's why I've used those colours

  1. We looked at pictures of koru shapes
  2. We had a go at drawing koru shapes in different sizes
  3. We planned how our art was going to look.
  4. We had to explain our art to our buddy
  5. We used chalk pastel to outline
  6. Then we used oil pastels to colour in the koru patterns.
  7. We made sure all the 'mouse holes' were filled in.
  8. We filled the outline with white pastel
  9. Lastly, we did a dye wash in black.
  10. We used a tissue to wipe off the extra dye
Colouring in the mouse holes.

Ebony says: This is a fantastic representation of your whanau Aria. I particularly like how you thought about what colours you would use and why. Ka mau te wehi!
