Stuck videos

On Monday, we watched a really funny movie about 2 people who get stuck on an escalator. Have you seen it?

We think that we can relate the message in this movie to our learning...Its like being stuck in our learning, we need to ask for help and we need to look for ways to solve the problem ourselves. We thought it would be fun to make our own movie to get this message across. We had 2 groups of criteria for our movie.

  • Video - 30 seconds long, time is limited. 
  • Scenario - Show someone being stuck and not using the ability to act. 
  • Clear Message - Short sharp clip. Can the watcher get the point of your video?
  • Unique - Coming up with something funny that gets a laugh from others. 
  • Time Passing - Do you need to show time passing in your clip to emphasise your message. 

Criteria: (Movie)
  • Light - Make sure the sun isn’t creating a hard to see clip. 
  • Voice Volume - Needs to be louder than other background volume eg Noise, Kids.
  • Frame - What’s in the frame to make your message obvious. 
  • Steady Hands - Make sure the camera is still. 
  • Individual Clips - Don’t do one continuous shot of 30 seconds. Make a range of short clips and join together.

Swimming goals 2015

This term we have started swimming again. We made a video to show our skills in the pool. We looked back at our videos observed what we could get better at.



My goal is: to get better at my breath stroke feet when I flex my feet, I need to push myself and concentrate on gliding quite far and to get faster I need to use my arms to glide though the water. I aim To achieve this goal by swimming sports. Every week on Friday I am going to get someone to video me doing breath stroke. So I can see my progress. I will know I have achieved it when I don't get it wrong or I glide quite far. 


I have acheived my goal and I know this because in my video I was doing an extra paddle with my hands. In my video I just took I don't do it

Maths knowledge test

In class we have been doing number knowledge tests in stage 4,5 and 6. I got though 4 and 5 and staying in level six.  You have to get over 40 right to pass. In Stage 4 I Got 50/50 stage 5 45/50 stage 6 17/50

Stage 5 90%

Stage 6 34%

Big Idea: 
is to write the numbers to 10 000 000 including fractions and decimals because that's what I thought was the hardest to do. Pink means I got it wrong and yellow means I got it right in three seconds when a buddy helped me!

That was me growing up

Purpose: share childhood memories

In class we were writing a story about us growing up. We could pick two times we learned about something. Here is my plan 

Remember when we were on the slides at splash planet. Me and my dad chose the speed slide. I was really nervous. My dad said let me clean your goggles. Then he pushed me down. I started screaming
all the way down. I finally reached the bottom with a huge splash. Water slammed in my mouth and eyes. I spat out the water and wiped my eyes and said "that's awesome let's do it again. But with my goggles on and my mouth shut"? I learned to always give things a go!

Remember when we went on the bumper boats, I was to scared to go by myself so I went with my mum. We were going quite fast, we splashed into dad and Kali so hard i nearly fell off into the water. I shuffled around in the seat because i was so excited, the bumper boat made a squeek ,my sister and dad thought it was a fart. it was humiliating?

That was me growing up.
